صحيفة سودان تربيون اخبار السودان / ديسمبر 23, 2021

December 22, 2021 (JUBA) – South Sudan announced on Wednesday the completion of preparations to provide adequate security for Christmas break, putting all security forces on high alert across the 10 state and three administrative areas.

Tong Akeen Ngor, governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal, told The Sudan Tribune on Wednesday that preparations to provide adequate security measures are complete.

Gen. Daniel Justin, Spokesman of the National Police Services, for his part, announced that security forces have strengthened measures to provide adequate security and safety to the lives and properties across the country.

The police spokesman described the festival period as annual requiring the authorities to ensure the provision of security so that every family member gets the opportunity to celebrate with peace of mind and to ensure no criminals take advantage of the event. The mandate of the security, according to the spokesman, requires putting an assortment of forces on standby.

The general situation in the country, he said, was stable.

“Up to now, we have not received reports of criminal activities across most parts of the country. So, the general security situation as of now is normal. There is no problem”.

All the roads and highways into and out of the country are secure. The main lifeline and connecting road with neighbouring countries like the Juba-Nimule Road, Juba-Bahr El Ghazal, Juba-Bor, Juba western Equatoria, Juba-Kajo-Keji, and others have forces deployed to protect lives and properties.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Agak Achuil Lual announced a decision to pay out salaries to the civil servants.

The army and members of the organized forces, including police services, national security, and other organs will receive payment before the end of the year.

According to the minister, this decision would boost the morale of the security forces to provide adequate security and protection to lives and their properties.

Lual announced a commitment to the directive of the president to ensure all civil servants and members of the armed forces are paid on time. The 100% increment ordered by president Salva Kiir will be reflected in the new payment.
